CMYUK has launched Arkutex, its specialist division of innovative textiles for use within the built environment. The comprehensive range of materials and systems offer a fresh new approach to surface aesthetics, across external and internal applications, providing an abundance of creative solutions to architects and designers.

CMYUK has also announced that it has retained the services of KSS, an award-winning architectural & design practice, to design a new dedicated Arkutex showroom and contractor training centre in Bloxwich, home to its national logistics and distribution centre.

This facility will showcase multiple environments that simulate all target applications and markets for surface textiles. It will act as an innovation hub for establishing a nationwide community of specifiers and contractors.

Robin East, Commercial Director, CMYUK Group said, “We are delighted to launch this new specialist division and are particularly excited to be working with KSS to establish a new showroom and fitting training centre. This new facility will showcase the full potential of textile architecture applications that will engage and inspire the high-end Architectural/D&B community and associated media.”

Arkutex materials

Arkutex products are available in a wide variety of colours and textures. They can be used to create bespoke solutions for numerous market sectors including corporate, hospitality, leisure, retail, heritage, education, healthcare, events, exhibitions and more.

Installations can include large scale single-piece stretch fabrics that appear as solid structures for walls and ceilings. This enables digitally printed designs or plain textiles to fabricate temporary or semi-permanent spatial areas, extending the imaginative scope and potential of surface interiors. Paste-up textiles, furniture, exterior facades, projection backdrops, magnetic surfaces, pin walls and more, are all made possible through these materials.

Arkutex products bestow a premium feel to a locality.  Vast (up to 5m wide), one-piece, no-join surface coverings impart an imperceptible yet powerful ambience for truly impactful walls and ceilings

Quick and easy to install, Arkutex textile solutions do away with traditional construction and refurb deficiencies.  Their extensive composition adds value through easily integrated elements such as colour changing illumination, acoustic grade properties, heat management, and anti-viral protection whilst also meeting rigorous health & safety and environmental standards with full certification.

Specification-ready for all applications, Arkutex textiles can work with a wide range of systems and techniques to deliver a best in market opportunity for all types of projects.

John Sulzmann, Arkutex Specification Consultant said, “The Arkutex brand is a very exciting proposition that will enhance the architectural, design and build sectors. These environmentally friendly systems and solutions provoke clever configurations for a wide variety of applications and creative treatments.”

Debbie Drake, Associate Director, KSS said, “We are delighted to be involved in the launch of Arkutex, to bring to life the wide range of innovative textiles available and present their many uses in a way that will intrigue and inspire. It is fantastic to see CMYUK’s investment in considering the sustainable qualities of using fabrics alongside the impact that bespoke printed graphics can bring to projects across all environments.”
