John Sulzmann joins CMYUK in Sustainability Materials role

Former Artworks Solutions co-founder helping to redefine materials for the design & build architectural markets

Sulzmann former co-founder and director at Artworks Solutions has joined CMYUK in a new role: Sustainability Materials Specification.  He will interact directly with the Design and Build architectural sectors,

alerting them to a wide  range of high-performing eco materials, elevating the CMYUK portfolio to attain corporate specification status.

“I am delighted to join CMYUK in this new position,” said John. “I have always admired how CMYUK has grown to become a market leader. I am really impressed by its sustainable and exclusive materials development, placing it in a position to become a true specification solution for brands and corporates.”

Over the past four years,  CMYUK has worked exclusively with world class manufacturing partners in the joint development of advanced sustainable materials. This includes products such as UFabrik ECO, with its  superb one-piece wallcoverings made of recycled yarn produced from single use plastic waste.   UFabrik greatly enhances installation aesthetics as it is available in widths of up to 5m, and therefore able to create a seamless continuous printed graphic.

CMYUK  has audited the lifecycle of all its eco products from manufacture through to end-of-life disposal, ensuring that all stringent environmental ratings, performance, fire and safety standards are in place.

Extended environmental service

Attention to sustainable products and practices means nothing if an eco-material finishes up in landfill. To address this critical end-of-life path,  CMYUK is set to launch a new commercial recycling service for its customers.  This will divert its eco materials away from landfill to be processed instead through recycling networks and waste-to-energy conversion.

“Our specialist extended recycling service is the last piece of the specified solution puzzle. It provides a controlled and trackable waste collection service that allows brands to manage the disposal of CMYUK approved post printed waste,  significantly supporting their sustainability targets. John completely shares our vision, recognising the significance of our unparalleled materials portfolio and the sustainable message it brings to the specifier arena,” said Robin East, CMYUK Group Sales and Marketing Director.

John concluded, “Working in concert with CMYUK sales and marketing teams, I am very confident that we will gain serious traction to pull through some big specs. The CMYUK eco portfolio redefines architectural textiles and wallcoverings, which will not only replace existing materials but improves actual applications. The circular environmental dimension enhances CMYUK’s solutions even further, providing these market sectors with everything their customers are now demanding.”
