SPD Design and Print takes centre stage at the TRNSMT Festival with their large-scale graphics

SPD Design and Print is one of the leading visual communications companies in the UK, committed to their investment in people and technology. Earlier this year they purchased a Mimaki UJV55-320 high-performance Superwide printer from CMYUK and recently got to show off its capabilities at TRANSMT – a three-day festival in Glasgow with headliners such as Radiohead and Kasabian taking to the stage.

Already known for producing high-end sports and festival graphics, SPD was asked to produce large stage mesh graphics and VIP backboards. With specification and sampling help from CMYUK, the materials they chose for the project were CMYUK UPrint Banner Supreme Mesh 305gsm (no liner) (3200mm wide) and Uprint Speakermesh.

Graham Watt, Operations at SPD, said: “CMYUK Uprint coated mesh is strong, stable and performs at high levels in various weather conditions, whilst Uprint Speakermesh allows sound to travel without any distortion – it performed perfectly with the sound system installed behind the graphic.”
