Route 1 Print boosts throughput with JWEI & Neolt finishing technology
Route 1 Print, part of Blue Tree Group in South Yorkshire, has expanded its finishing and production capability with a second JWEI cutting table from CMYUK, driven by strong customer demand and a growing product range. In this video, MD, Mark Young explains how the investment has helped the business move faster, improve productivity, and support the launch of new products for its print professional and reseller customer base.
Mark highlights the value of the JWEI digital cutting platform, describing it as delivering “a huge amount of bang for your buck” in a market where premium feature finishing technology requires major capital outlay. He also praises the overall JWEI package, including build quality, software, training, and ongoing support from CMYUK.
The first JWEI JCUT 3230 was installed in 2024 at the business to improve finishing efficiency in a key area of production, replacing outdated processes and enabling a more productive workflow. Following the success of that installation, Route 1 Print installed a second model to keep pace with demand.
The video also outlines how supporting equipment has improved the wider production environment. The move from sheet-based poster production to a reel-fed workflow using a Neolt system has significantly increased speed by streamlining printing and finishing. Also, the investment in a High Roller Carousel, an automated vertical staorage system for roll media from CMYUK, has helped to improve storage, protect roll inventory, minimise defects, and improve the health and well-being of staff.
For Route 1 Print, these investments are ultimately about customer outcomes: moving faster, producing better products, and widening its service offerings.
